About Rosie Peters...

Rosie A. Peters was born on May 18, 1911, in Gaza, Iowa to the late Frederich Henry and Minnie Margarette (Reimers) Siemers. She was baptized on May 19, 2008 and received her education in District 88 in Gaza, Iowa.

On January 20, 1932, Rosie was united in marriage to Ervin Froderman in Jackson; Minnesota. He passed away on October 21, 1945. On February 6, 1947, Rosie was united in marriage to Ben Peters in Jackson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived in Sioux Valley, Minnesota for one and a half years, they returned to Cottonwood County to farm in Dale Township near Windom. They became the parents of two sons and one daughter. On June 24, 1977, Ben passed away. After his death, Rosie continued to live on the farm and her son took over the operations of the farm. Through the years, Rosie was employed at the Sogge Good Samaritan Society in Windom where she was a nurse’s aid, at the Driftwood Steakhouse and the Eat Shop as a waitress, and the Windom Country Club and the American Legion as a cook. She also volunteered her time to help with the Wednesday dinners at the Eagles Club in Windom. Seven years ago, Rosie moved to Billings Montana to be closer to her daughter, Bev. On Friday, May 30, 2008, she passed away at Riverstone Health in Billings at the wonderful age of 97.

Rosie was a longtime, dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Windom and the Windom Eagles Club where she enjoyed volunteering her time.

Rosie’s grateful family includes her two sons, Ronald Peters and wife, Cheryl, of Windom; Myron Peters and wife, Lynn, of Windom; Beverly Stonerock and husband, Robert of Billings, MT; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Clausen of North Branch; Gloria Johnson and husband, Vernon, of Clarkfield; Bernice Tallman and husband, John, of Amboy; one sister-in-law, Verina Siemers of St. Peter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ervin Froderman and Ben Peters; one son, Ervin Froderman Jr.; five brothers, Delbert, Alvin, Lester, Harvey, and Fred Siemers; two sisters, Leona Behr and Alice Hoefker; one grandchild; and 3 great-great-grandchidren.
