About Ellen M. Miller...
Mrs. Ellen M. Miller, 84, of Burlington, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence.Born November 15, 1924 in Oakville, Iowa, she was the daughter of John Robert and Ethel Jane Johnson Stoller. On August 10, 1946 she married Arthur C. “Bud” Miller Jr. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1986.
Mrs. Miller was a 1943 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a homemaker and very involved and supportive of the Burlington Community. She was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church, T.T.T., Burlington Fine Art League Guild, P.E.O. and St. Teresa Little Flower Circle. She was active with funeral luncheons at the church and her “deviled eggs” were her trademark.
Survivors include, her children, David (Gretchen) Miller of Burlington, Craig (Joyce) Miller of Clearwater, Florida, Joyce Wood of Laguna Hills, California, Connie Miller of Lake Ozark, Missouri and John (Marci) Miller of Braselton, Georgia; grandchildren, Sarah (Dan) Miller-Jacobs, Gina Miller, Laura Miller, Ryan Miller, Abby (Tom) Olsen, Shana (Jason) Spencer, Ross Miller, Lisa (Peter) Ottomanelli, Kevin Wood, Steven Wood, Justin (Melissa) Ford, Taylor Ford, Jarod Ford, Michael (Sarah) Hadley, Tricia Hadley, Joshua Hadley, Jenna McChesney, Jaden Miller and Ana Margaret Miller; great-grandchildren, Talia Miller-Jacobs, Miela Miller-Jacobs and Timothy Ottomanelli and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughter, Carol J. Hadley McChesney.
Friends may call from noon until 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 19th in Lunning Chapel. The Christian Wake Service for Mrs. Miller will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, October 19th in St. Paul’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the Christian Wake Service until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the church.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Miller will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20th in St. Paul Catholic Church. The Reverend Patrick Hilgendorf will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for SS John and Paul Catholic Church and Burlington Fine Arts League.
