Tom and Marianne Hamerski send our prayers and thoughts to the entire Simon family. Aunt Dolores sure did make the most out of the years given to her, and hope all can find a way to celebrate her wonderful life in peace.

So sorry to hear of my great-aunt's passing. I am unable to attend services but wish to pass my love to the family. I will be praying the rosary right along with you here at home in Virginia.

A note to Delores, my sister- My fondest memories of you are when we were little, we slept and played together, had afternoon tea parties and played paper dolls, but then, you grew up and married Burnie. What an amazing guy he was. I was your bridesmaid and it was the greatest thing that I had ever done. I wish we could have been together more, but miles separated us, however I treasured our telephone calls. In Winona we were always called the Byer girls, now it is just the Byer Girl. I love you and always had and will miss you!-your sister Cleo.

I have been the secretary at St. Thomas School for 20 years. Dolores was the most amazing person. I used to type her Christmas letter every year and was always amazed at how busy and active she and Bernie were! When she was not feeling well or had been in the hospital, she would call me at the school and say, "Sharon, tell those kids to pray for me!". And they did! My son Jay was one of Dolores's Prayer Partners and was an Altar Server at their 65 anniversary Mass. She had such a connection with all the kids and they would always make a point of staying in contact with her even after they were grown. I remember at Christmas time when they still lived in their house, she would have the whole class of kids come over with their teacher and they would have a Christmas party. Dolores would shoo the teacher to the kitchen to drink coffee with Bernie and she would stay in the living room with all the kids, singing Christmas songs, doing Christmas plays, and playing games. She was truly an inspirational person! Her and Bernie's marriage was one that we all envied. They are now together again. Dolores will be missed by all of us but the lives she has touched are countless! She was the most faith filled person I have ever known. I will treasure all my memories of time spent with her!
