You were always there to welcome me with open arms, from when Kellie and I would run away to your house as children, through adolescence, and into adulthood. It was great knowing I always had a soft place to land when needed. You always warmed me with love and care, and were always there for special times in my life.

When I was a child I remember you bringing me gifts from every vacation you took, filling our bowls with cereal before school, making Christmas cookies and candy, and reassuring me the storm would be over soon so we could leave the basement that smelled like dead fish! When I was an adolescent I remember you driving Greg and I to school when we missed the bus, watching me cheer and graduate high school, and spending hours crocheting me dolls, bedspreads, and dolies. As an adult you gave me the confidence and support to become a nurse. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, from the growing plant that I see everyday that I took home from your funeral to seeing my 3 month old smiling daughter Kailey Elaine, who shares your middle name. I know you left us down here but you are reunited with the ones we love and miss up there, including our sister Melanie. I remember you like it was yesterday and I will never forget you. I love you and miss you very much......

You know your "Sonny" Calvin is a wonderful husband and father, you can now add grandpa. I am your daughter-in-law, but you alway's made me feel like one of your kids. Being a grandma was one of your greatest joy's in life, I now know that feeling, thanks to Kailey. Kellie and Greg were proud to call you grandma, now Melanie is calling you grandma.

Mom I would like to thank you for being my mom. I could not of asked for a more loving and caring mom. You were always' there for me if I had a problem, I could always come to you. You may not of always had the answer , but the words "Sonny it will be alright" seemed to make things better. You were right- Barb and the kids are most imporant to me. I know now why you loved and spoiled your grandchildren, Kellie had a little girl Kailey, she is grandpa and grandmas, pride and joy.

Mom, I still think of you and miss you everyday! You gave me so many great memories and I cherish every single one. I share them with my girls every chance I get. I remember you giving me a candybar and pop everyday after school just so I would sit and tell you how my day was, the dreaded trips to the store with you and Aunt Bev where you two would act crazy and of course the baking marathons where you would make me wear a towel on my head so I didn't get hair in the cookies. I just want to thank you for being the kind, loving, funny, generous mother that you were. Thank you mom for everything. I love you!

Grandma,
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you! I miss everything about you! Your smile, your passion for life, and most of all your love! I wish you could have been here when Hayven was born! I would have given anything for you to be in that room with me the day he was born! I truly believe, even though I couldn't see you, you were there! You'd be proud of my little man! I want to thank you for being there for me when I needed you! I love you Grandma!*KISS*
